Utah vault notes:
Utah's 49.625 on vault shattered the old school record
of 49.55 set twice clear back in 1993!!
Riffy looked great off the table and in flight
and she stuck it. The only thing I could see
at all was she was maybe a little low
on her landing.
Veronique was on top of her game on this
vault.
If she hadn't taken a little step on her
landing, I think Nicolle Ford would have
received a 10.0 on her vault. It had great
amplitude and she was perfectly aligned.
Rachel Tidd's vault was nothing short
of amazing. Her tiny deduction was impossible
for me to see.
Melissa Vituj was great in the air. She
worked to stick her landing and pulled
it off nicely.
Annabeth scores a perfect 10.0! Nothing
else need be said.

Utah bar notes:
Dominique and Rachel both had exceptional routines.
They swung the bars well, handstands were straight up
and dismounts stuck. Dom, especially, had a great dismount.
Mel had a fall early in her routine. I missed it
because I was getting a score.
Annabeth Eberle was phenomenal. Her Tkatchev was
as high in the air as I've ever seen. One slight
leg split on a handstand was the only little error I
saw. I was surprised she didn't score at least a 9.90.
Veronique flew through her routine without any problems
before taking a small step on her dismount.
Nicolle Ford ignored a spontaneous crowd outburst
when a 10.0 was flashed for Jeanette Antolin after
her vault and looked fantastic. Her double layout
dismount was a beauty.
Stephanie Lim had a nice routine going in exhibition
before falling near the end.

BEAM BEAM
Holly Murdock 9.750 Natalie Nicoloff 9.800
Lori Winn 9.900 Rachel Tidd 9.850
Kristen Maloney 9.875 Gritt Hofmann 9.850
Jeanette Antolin 9.925 Nicolle Ford 9.400
Kate Richardson 10.00 Annabeth Eberle 9.825
Yvonne Tousek 9.825 Melissa Vituj 9.950
BB: 49.525; Running: 147.025 BB: 49.275; Running: 197.350
Utah beam notes:
Natalie Nicoloff showed why she is one
of the best lead-off performers in the nation.
She likely would have scored better later in
the lineup.
Rachel Tidd showed why she is world class on the
beam. She had just a couple of small bobbles on
a very difficult and cool routine.
Gritty was very gritty on this one. She had
the crowd ooh-ing and ah-ing on her moves,
but she did a nice job staying on after her
flick flack lay.
Nicolle Ford had a beauty going and looked
great from my angle on her flick flack layout,
layout, but she took a tumble after the
second layout.
Annabeth Eberle had an unexplainable slip but
stayed on. For those of you who remember
Shannon Bowle's mysterious slip a few years ago,
this was a repeat. The rest of her routine
was marvelous.
Do you know that Mel lives to be in the
position she was in-on the beam with a chance
to clinch the win? She was sooo smooth and
even blew a kiss.

Utah floor notes
Riffy started things off on floor with a great
routine. She nailed her double layout on the
first pass and hit a tuck double back on
the third pass.
Rachel Tidd had troubles slipping on the mat.
She slipped three times--one time all the
way out of bounds.
Nicolle Ford's routine was amazing. Get
ready Salt Lake fans for next Friday because
you are going to love her.
Can Gritt hit? Yes! Beautiful routine. She
absolutely stuck her pike double back and
tuck double back and her dance had the
crowd going.
I honestly thought that A.B. would receive
a much higher score. Her routine was
powerful and clean.
Mel unveiled her new floor routine
and it is as good or better than ever. She
hit all of her moves and won the smile
contest.
