Utah vault notes:
Really nice vault by Kristen Riffanacht,
maybe Riffy's best of the year. She had
plenty of room off the vault and just a
slight step on the landing.
Veronique Leclerc just shot off the horse. She
was a little low and had a tiny step on her landing.
Otherwise a nice vault.
No problems for Queenie on vault. Nicolle Ford
had a beauty. Great in flight, perfect landing.
Melissa Vituj fell to her knees on her landing.
Rachel Tidd looked great in the air but fell
on her landing--repeat of Mel.
Annabeth Eberle had a great vault. Leaned
ever so slightly forward on her landing, but
no steps, no balance checks, no big lean. Great
vault.

Utah bar notes
Dominique looked like she was almost floating through her routine.
She stuck her double layout dismount nicely.
Melissa Vituj had her best routine this year in my
opinion. She totally nailed her big time dismount.
Veronique Leclerc was right on. She stood all of her
handstands perfectly and really flew through the routine.
You can't get a better stick on a dismount than she had.
Annabeth Eberle had a nice routine, coming just a little
short on one handstand and coming a big close to the
bar on her big Tkatchev. Otherwise, great!
Rachel Tidd had a great routine, no real deductions and
great stick on the dismount.
I couldn't tell what the judges counted Nicole Ford
down for so much on her routine. She had problems throughout,
coming close to the bar and not as tight as she normally
is, but I don't know where the big deduction came from.

Utah beam notes
Natalie Nicoloff led off with a very steady routine.
In her first beam routine of the year, Veronique
Leclerc started beautifully, hitting her series
great and looking in charge before going under the
beam when she dropped down on it midway through the
event. She couldn't quite pull herself up and had
to put her feet on the ground.
Gabriella Onodi did a great job throughout, especially
at the end, when it looked like she didn't have her
foot placed properly for takeoff on her dismount, but
she handled it anyway. Very impressive.
Rachel Tidd looked a little off balance before starting
her series and fell on the layout.
Nicolle Ford was phenomenal. She had the tiniest of tiny
balance checks on one move. That's all. I don't know
where the tenth off came.
Melissa Vituj was nothing short of perfect on the beam.
I guess she really got hit for a hop on her dismount.

Utah floor notes
Riffy was really on tonight. For the second straight
week she really sold her routine. Tumbling and leaps
were both great. I thought she was underscored.
Natalie Nicoloff replaced Annabeth Eberle in the floor
lineup and did a really nice job for her first floor
routine of the year. A.B. has ice on her ankle so
she must have re-injured it.
Dom must have fallen on her last pass. I was trying
to get a score and missed it.
Rachel Tidd was marvelous on the floor. Her tumbling,
dance, everything was awesome. She received a career-high
and could have scored even better with that routine!
Note: Annabeth Eberle is out for the final event as
well. Stephanie Lim, scheduled to compete last, pulled
out because she has a bad cold and is too congested to
safely do her routine.
Nicolle Ford responded to her drop in the lineup
with a big time routine. Like Tidd, she really hit
everything in her set, setting the table for ...
Melissa Vituj, who got her big fan base cheering
with her best floor routine of the year.
