STANFORD UTAH VAULT VAULT Melissa Chuang 9.775 Becky Tutka 9.825 Rachel Daum 9.825 Mary Beth Lofgren 9.800 Taylor Rice 9.775 Nansy Damianova 9.850 Danielle McNair 9.800 Kailah Delaney 9.950 Nicolette McNair 9.850 Tory Wilson 9.925 Kristina Vaculik 9.850 Georgia Dabritz 9.875 VT: 49.100; Running: 49.100 VT: 49.425; Running: 98.775 Utah vault notes: Becky Tutka wasn't quite as explosive as usual, most likely because she has a tweaked ankle. That's why she won't compete on floor today. Nice vault by Mary Beth Lofgren. Didn't quite stick her landing. Nansy Damianova was really good in the air. Nice form and distance. She leaned forward on her dismount, although she didn't take a step. Kailah Delaney's vault looked perfect. Long, high, stuck landing. Really nice. Tory Wilson shot sky high. I thought she stuck her landing too, although it was sort of hard to see from my vantage point. I'm not sure where her deduction came. Georgia Dabritz took a slight step after a big vault. It's that one where she lands facing out and it's really hard to stick that one cold.BARS BARS Shona Morgan 9.900 Breanna Hughes 9.850 Taylor Rice 9.875 Tory Wilson 9.825 Nicolette McNair 9.875 Hailee Hansen 9.775 Danielle McNair 9.875 Corrie Lothrop 9.850 Samantha Shapiro 9.900 Nansy Damianova 9.900 Kristina Vaculik 9.850 Georgia Dabritz 9.925 UB: 49.425; Running: 98.525 UB: 49.350; Running: 49.350 b>Utah bar notes: Breanna Hughes got Utah off to a great start with maybe her best bar routine this year. Really good flow, nice handstands. Small step on dismount. Tory Wilson just skied on her dismount. I mean, she was SO high. She did take a step back on the dismount, but wow. Hailee Hansen had to go to plan B and covered perfectly. Great dismount and stick. Corrie Lothrop hit her handstands and her set. She was sick yesterday and looked a little bit labored to me. Nansy Damianova's routine was a beauty. Very clean. Georgia Dabritz had another beauty. I'm trying to see what she did "wrong" and the only thing I saw was she paused a little longer than usual one one handstand. I don't even know if that is a deduction.
BEAM BEAM Shona Morgan 9.850 Baely Rowe 9.725 Rebecca Wing 9.825 Georgia Dabritz 9.675 Nicolette McNair 9.850 Tory Wilson 9.775 Taylor Rice 9.825 Mary Beth Lofgren 9.150 Kristina Vaculik 9.825 Kailah Delaney 9.025 Amanda Spinner 9.850 Corrie Lothrop 9.775 BB: 49.200; Running: 147.725 BB: 48.075; Running:196.300 Utah beam notes: Only a balance check midway through on a flight series marred this routine by Baely Rowe. She made a nice recovery and finished strong. Georgia Dabritz was substituted in during the touch warmups and had a great routine going before and after a near fall. Kudos to her for staying on and finishing strong. Tory Wilson had a sweet routine going, nailed her flight series and early leaps, but had a big balance check on a later leap. Stuck her dismount. Mary Beth Lofgren was not clicking right from the start and fell after two shaky trips up and down the beam. Like Mary Beth Lofgren, Kailah Delaney also looked nervous and cautious from the start right up to her fall. I think Corrie Lothrop might have missed a connection on a leap series. She was in a bad spot finishing that set and was a little tentative.
FLOOR FLOOR Shona Morgan 9.875 Mary Beth Lofgren 9.825 Jenna Frowein 9.825 Kailah Delaney 9.825 Rachel Daum 9.800 Lia Del Priore 9.725 Pauline Hanset 9.825 Tory Wilson 9.900 Taylor Rice 9.800 Georgia Dabritz 9.975 Kristina Vaculik 9.950 Nansy Damianova 9.925 Fx: 49.275; Running: 197.000 FX: 49.450; Running: 148.225 Utah floor notes: Back in the lineup in place of Becky Tutka (tweaked ankle), Mary Beth Lofgren responded with a nice routine. Good tumbling and leaps. When Kailah Delaney totally hits that huge full in on her first pass, she is going to score huge. She stepped back on this one, but stayed inbounds. Really high, impressive leaps. Nice stuck final tumbling pass. Lia Del Priore struggled to hit her tumbling passes. First full in was low and she had to take a step on her other two. Scoring issues were the reason I stopped putting scores in for awhile. They don't have any scoring trees here and there must have been some communications issues with the scoring system. Have I said lately that Tory Wilson skies high? Her double layout was through the roof and she stuck it cold. Great tumbling and high-flying acrobatic leaps. Georgia Dabritz's floor routine was as good as it gets. She looked perfect to me and to one judge. Big, clean tumbling, soft landings. Wow. Nansy Damianova's only error was a small step on her first tumbling pass. The rest was pretty much error free.
