Utah vault notes: Kylee Wagner had a good vault with just a little hop on the landing. Gritt had a bit too much air to stick her landing. She took a long step. Veronique Leclerc almost does a complete stick after a good vault. I couldn't see a thing wrong with Kristen Riffanacht's vault, including the landing. However, both judges gave her a 9.85. Melissa Vituj came off the vault fast and did a nice save on her landing. Annabeth Eberle had an incredible vault. It had to be hard to find a deduction on that one. It is a new career high.

Utah bar notes: Kristen Riffanacht had a nice routine but cowboyed her dismount. Annabeth Eberle was all about perfect handstands and nice swinging. All I can think is she might have hit her foot slightly on her Tkatchev. Melissa Vituj turns in a beauty and sticks the dismount. Veronique Leclerc sailed through her new routine until coming low off her double layout dismount and doing a face plant. This is a great routine once she gets that dismount. Kim Allan showed off her stuff for her parents tonight! Wow this was a sensational routine. Maybe her best yet. Theresa Kulikowski takes advantage and follows with a 9.95. How come even when it looks like Kulio is battling a little, she still looks perfect? Dominque D'Oliveira did another nice routine in exhibition again and scored a 9.75. The parts I saw looked better than that but I didn't see it all.

Utah beam notes: Kylee Wagner was cruising along until her flight series, when she fell. Kim Allan recovered with a career-best beauty. She went all the way to the end on her layout to two feet and stuck it solid. Gritt Hofmann didn't fare as well, suffering her first fall of the year. Annabeth Eberle concluded another simply sensational night with a big beam routine that tied her career high. Theresa Kulikowski was, well, Kulio. Even the OSU crowd was cheering like it wanted a 10.0. I think she maybe batted an eyelash though. Melissa Vituj got through her flight series fine, but couldn't quite keep her balance a few moves later and fell for the first time this year.

Utah floor notes: Clearly the judges didn't like Veronique Leclerc's routine as much as I did. Kylee Wagner looked fabulous from start to finish. Great power and great dance. Apparently she stepped out of bounds on her first pass, although I couldn't see it. The major deduction on Kristen Riffanacht's routine no doubt came on her closing pass for a second straight week. She landed her tuck double back in a squat and took a step when she stood it up. Theresa Kulikowski's floor routine was unbelievable and not just because it was her first of the year. Her new routine is her best yet and everyone needs to see her. Annabeth Eberle followed Kulio with another great routine. She absolutely nailed her pike double back after going about eight feet in the air. If there is anyone who enjoys competing, especially on floor, than Melissa Vituj, I sure haven't seen them. Vituj was clean, lively and hit all of her tumbling without flaw. Natalie Nicoloff was sharp in exhibition. All I saw of significance in terms of deductions was a hop out of her final layout front-tuck front.
