Utah vault notes:
That's the most flight I've seen Nina have on a vault for
awhile. She did take a step on the landing.
OK, Annie DiLuzio catches major air on her vaults. That
one was huge. Tied her career high.
Nicolle Ford looked like she was going to balk but ended
up going for it. Her vault was solid, but she stepped
back on the landing.
Really nice vault by Sarah Shire. Only mistake? She also
took a step on her dismount.
Beautiful vault by Kristina Baskett. All I saw was she
arched her back a lot on the landing, but I didn't know that
was a .15 deduction, or any deduction for that matter.
Ashley Postell's vault was big league. She had a very
small little balance check on the landing.

Utah bar notes:
Nina Kim started out with a nice routine. She held her
landing long enough before leaning out.
Jessica Duke swung the bars better than I've seen
her do in quite awhile, but she didn't stick the
dismount.
Daria Bijak did a great cover when she got a little
stuck on the low bar.
Ashley Postell had an amazing routine going and
all of the sudden just jumped off the bar and went
and re-chalked. Lya and Linda had a better view and
they said her grip got turned around.
Again, Kristina Baskett looked like she was off
to a big score and she suddenly fell from the high
bar.

BEAM BEAM
Kacie Capra 9.650 Kristina Baskett 9.850
Lisa Willis 9.125 Nina Kim 9.850
Alethea Boon 9.300 Daria Bijak 9.825
Hayley Jensen 9.800 Sarah Shire 9.825
Kaylee Gallup 9.050 Nicolle Ford 9.925
Dayna Smart 9.850 Ashley Postell 9.975
BB: 47.725; Running: 145.400 BB: 49.425; Running: 196.725
Utah beam notes:
What I saw of Kristina Baskett's routine was very good except
she had a balance check on her punch front. We had to straighten
out something with the computer scoring program. Doug and Karen
Marshall do an amazing job with the scoring down here and always
help me out, even though Utes and Cougars usually don't play well
together.
For all of you Marky Maypole fans,l he just walked down to the
third row in a stunning red robe and sparkly red tiara.
Outstanding, aggrssive and confident routine by Nina Kim. Linda
Hamilton thinks her deduction came with a somewhat low landing,
although she didn't step out of it and it wasn't dramatic.
Daria Bijak also moved really well through her routine. Too bad
she had a step on the landing, because she was really solid on
the beam. She had the teeniest of balance checks on a spin
was the only thing I saw on the beam.
In the big picture, Sarah Shire had a very well executed
routine. It was little bobbles here and there that cost her tenths.
Queenie deserved every tenth of that routine, according to the
four reporters I consulted. I missed part of it dealing with
computer scoring issues, but what I saw was great.
When Ashley Postell has her game face on, look out. What a great
routine. However, it should have received a 9.95 because she didn't
absolultey yperfectly land her punch front. Fortunately, I'm not
judging in this case.

FLOOR FLOOR
Heidi Poulson 9.850 Beth Rizzo 9.775
Kiki Barrett 9.825 Stephanie Neff 9.225
Lisa Willis 9.100 Annie DiLuzio 9.850
Kylee Draper 9.825 Nicolle Ford 9.850
Dayna Smart 9.875 Kristina Baskett 9.900
Kacie Capra 9.825 Ashley Postell 9.925
FX: 49.200; Running: 194.600 FX: 49.300; Running: 147.300
Utah floor notes:
Really nice lead off routine by Beth Rizzo. She has a
lot of good tumbling in her routine and hit it all. I
thought she looked a little gassed before she headed into
her final pass, but she hit her double back nicely.
Stephanie Neff was cruising through her routine without
any problems and on the very last flip of her very last
pass, she stumbled backwards and fell our of bounds.
Good move changing Annie DiLuzio's first tumbling pass to
a triple twist from an Arabian front. She navigated it
nicely, for the most part, and although she did step out
of it, it wasn't very noticeablet.
Queenie technically "hit" her routine, but she looked flat
and was crooked on two passes. I think she was over
scored (sorry Queenie). I give it a 9.80.
Kristina Baskett got a well-deserved standing ovation. She
just nailed that routine. Her full-in and routine-ending
double pike were particularly strong. She was really on.
Ashley Postell just lit this place up. I expected at
least a 9.95. She landed a gigantic double Arabian just
in bounds and should have received extra credit for the huge
smile that followed. That routine goes down as one of
Ashley's best.
