WASHINGTON UTAH VAULT VAULT Tori Quandt 9.650 Stephanie Lim 9.850 Chelsea Bakken 9.625 Veronique Leclerc 9.825 Carly Dockendorf 9.775 Kristen Riffanacht 9.925 Tacia LaBatte 9.925 Melissa Vituj 9.925 Kelly McDonald 9.925 Rachel Tidd 9.950 Emily Pritchard 10.00 Annabeth Eberle 10.0!!! VT: 49.275; Running: 49.275 VT: 49.650; Running: 197.950 Utah vault notes: Stephanie Lim looked good in flight and had a little hop on her landing. Veronique Leclerc came a little close to the vault for her deduction. Kristen Riffanacht had a phenomenal vault. Big air, big stick. Ditto for Melissa Vituj. She was magnificent start to finish. Rachel Tidd got huge air and had just a little lean on the landing. Annabeth Eberle's vault was as good as it gets and deserved every bit of the 10.0 it received. Even Greg got excited.
BARS BARS Tacia LaBatte 9.875 Dominique D'Oliveira 9.825 Kim Lewis 9.050 Stephanie Lim 9.700 Molly Seaman 9.900 Annabeth Eberle 9.925 Carly Dockendorf 9.950 Veronique Leclerc 9.900 Kelly McDonald 9.925 Melissa Vituj 9.925 Emily Pritchard 9.975 Rachel Tidd 9.925 UB: 49.625; Running: 98.900 UB: 49.500; Running: 49.500 Utah bar notes Dominique D'Oliveira overcame a pretty nasty fall in pre-meet warmups and competed as scheduled. She had a small hop on her dismount and didn't quite get straight on one handstand, but otherwise looked good. I'm not sure what Stephanie Lim did to score so low. All I saw of significance was a step back on her landing. Welcome back A.B.! What an awesome routine. She looked like she hadn't missed a minute with that routine. Veronique Leclerc also swung the bars very well and did a really nice job with all those hand switches on the top bar. Melissa Vituj had another great bar routine. She had a slight leg split on her triple twisting flyaway, but that was really minor. From the large Utah contingent, I could tell that Rachel Tidd really lit it up on the bars. Unfortunately, I didn't get to watch it.
BEAM BEAM Chelsea Bakken 9.500 Natalie Nicoloff 9.700 Amy Metcalf 9.875 Gabriella Onodi 9.850 Carly Dorkendorf 9.850 Kristen Riffanacht 9.900 Emily Pritchard 9.925 Veronique Leclerc 9.725 Kelly McDonald 9.300 Annabeth Eberle 9.850 Molly Seaman 9.900 Melissa Vituj 9.925 BB: 49.050; Running: 147.950 BB: 49.250; Running: 98.750 Utah beam notes One judge gave Natalie Nicoloff a 9.45. I guess she didn't think she had a 10.0 start value. There's been a long judges' consultation. That judge bumped her up to a 9.60 and she ended up with a 9.70 average. Gabriella Onodi's series and leaps were beautiful. She came down low on one of her tucked fronts, but made a nice clean save. Kristen Riffanacht just had an awesome routine. She was very steady, leaps and all tricks looked solid. Veronique Leclerc had the best beam routine I've seen her do this year. Her series was really nice. Annabeth Eberle was solid as a rock in her return to the beam action after a three-meet injury layoff. I saw one small balance check after a leap. The rest was 10.0 material. Melissa Vituj was right on from start to finish. Again, I'm not sure where the deductions are coming from. I guess Megan will have to find out after the meet.
FLOOR FLOOR Molly Seaman 9.850 Kristen Riffanacht 9.875 Chelsea Bakken 9.825 Veronique Leclerc 9.300 Kelly McDonald 9.925 Stephanie Lim 9.875 Tacia LaBatte 9.950 Gritt Hofmann 9.925 Emily Pritchard 9.925 Annabeth Eberle 9.950 Carly Dockendorf 9.950 Melissa Vituj 9.925 FX: 49.600; Running: 197.550 FX: 49.550; Running: 148.300 Utah floor notes Riffy really rocked on that routine. That's as good as I've seen her perform it. Veronique Leclerc had a great routine going and was headed for another big score until she appeared to slip on her last tumbling pass, which caused her to fall. Stephanie Lim had a really nice routine and nailed all of her big tumbling stuff. Gritt Hofmann returned to the floor lineup with a bang. I missed part of one pass so I wasn't sure until the score came up if she hit it. Obviously, she did. Wow was A.B.'s floor a beauty. One judge started to raise a 10.0, then changed it to a 9.95. I liked the routine as a 10.0 myself. Melissa Vituj's score was originally announced as a 9.925 and then it, too, was lowered.
